Description

You will be responsible for developing and supporting the implementation of a communications and marketing strategy that increases awareness and understanding of the marine transportation sector as well as the work of the Chamber of Shipping, positioning the organization as credible and collaborative thought leader.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the executive team on messaging and content creation, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters and annual reports.
  • Develop marketing and communications materials for the 100th anniversary gala and conference in September 2023.
  • Support the development of our Shipping Matters campaign leading up to our 100th anniversary.
  • Manage the advertising and production of the BC Ports Handbook in print and on-line.
  • Redesign the Chamber's website to enhance traffic and improve membership and public communication and engagement.
  • Plan and manage communications across a range of social media platforms to increase engagement, influence, and reach.
  • Identify partnership opportunities with influencers, affiliates, and other industry associations to increase engagement and the organization's on-line presence.
  • Monitor audience behavior, engagement, and posts to ensure evidence-based dialogue and maintain brand credibility.
  • Organize, schedule, and manage digital events, including webinars and workshops.
  • Create communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
  • Respond to communications-related issues in a timely manner.

Job Requirements
Experience

  • Five years of experience in marketing and communications, with progressive levels of responsibility and leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Marketing, Communications, Public Relations) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience planning and executing marketing and communications strategies to meet desired goals and objectives.
  • Experience with project management is an asset.
