Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and coordinate electrical installation projects from start to finish.
  • Plan and schedule installations, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Lead and motivate a team of electricians, providing technical guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret both European and North American electrical prints (Proficient knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring methods.)
  • Plan and ensure that all materials and equipment necessary are available for installations in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials used in installations, conducting regular inspections and quality checks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or complications that arise during installations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including work orders, progress reports, and safety records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Working on live systems up to and including 600 VAC.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs/reprograms electric and electronic controls.
  • Inspects wiring and fixtures for signs of damage.
  • Inspects work of subordinates for completeness
  • Ability to install, inspect, repair, and maintain the electrical systems within his control.
  • Studies project schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance, and quality of operations.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shift, department, or work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and shifts.
  • Sets up machines and equipment.
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors, contractors and staff from various other departments encountered.
  • Ability to perform various electrical installation and commissioning support works and as needed.
  • Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5kg, frequently lift and/or move up to 10kg, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25kg or 50kg with assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; working at height; and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Exposure to dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration.
