Brandt is seeking a highly organized Project Coordinator for its research & development team. Reporting to the Manager of Projects, Project Coordinators are responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget on Development projects.

They are responsible for more than just monitoring the process, they are the central hub of a project. As a product development project is transitioned from idea to action, project coordinators assist project managers, and when assigned, become the starting point for all development activity on that project. To manage scope, schedule and budget, Project Coordinators formally co-ordinate activities through all phases of the Product Development Process from Inception to Commercialization.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work within the project management processes and advise key stakeholders of the project status. Assist the Manager of Projects to further develop new processes as required.
  • Create and maintain accurate project schedules for all assigned projects. This schedule should match the steps of the Product Development process.
  • Assemble and organize project documents, including Product Definitions, Project Charters, and Commercialization Plans, at the beginning of a project. The Project Coordinator organizes the information, obtains formal approvals for project launch, co-ordinates with accounting, and conducts Project "kick-off" activities.
  • Create, Set-up, and Monitor activities, costs, and schedule of a Product Development Project.
  • Work with Product Planning to coordinate with Sales & Marketing to determine project/product requirements and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure that Project requirements are properly communicated to and understood by the project team.
  • Coordinate the activity of the Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and other involved departments so that they maintain required timelines.
  • Schedule Cross functional meetings held at appropriate intervals that ensure team members are aligned.
  • Track and Report on Progress, including monthly cost assignment (billings), as may be required. Communication is managed to all stakeholders/contributors so that efforts are maximized, and timelines are effectively minimized.
  • Manage scope creep through effective use of project change requests.
  • Along with accounting, effectively manage the cash flow on projects by pushing to hit milestones.
  • Oversee the release of technical information to manufacturing and ensures that data and drawings are accurate and correct.
  • Communicate any problems with team members or project results to the department managers.
  • Have a positive attitude towards work and provide leadership to create a good working environment for others.
  • Be a problem solver. Help to develop the solutions we need, filling gaps that may exist
