Synopsis of the role


As the Head of Planning and Execution (P&E) in the Technology team you will work directly for the Canada CTO leading the P&E team.

This team is responsible for establishing and executing the governance and control framework across the technology portfolio for the Canadian Technology team as a part of the wider Equifax global organization.


What you'll do

  • Lead, coach and guide the Canadian P&E team to efficiently manage the operations of the Technology team for the Canadian Technology Leaders
  • Drive "Big Picture Thinking", rigor, consistency & predictability through establishing the appropriate governance and control framework in alignment with the Equifax Global standards.
  • Manage complex, crossfunctional Technology portfolio that drives strategic and transformational business initiatives, which includes
  • Definition of program controls and governance
  • Oversight of program budgeting
  • Tracking/reporting on program objectives
  • Statuses, KPIs, RAID, etc.
  • Portfolio operations management
  • Communication to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate and contribute to the assurance and strategy of the wider Canadian business with close collaboration with teams like Product, Data & Analytics, Enterprise Programme Office, etc. to ensure robust and aligned plans which deliver regional objectives
  • Working with the Finance teams to ensure the bottomup and endtoend plans are aligned with the Technology team budgets, which includes
  • Facilitation of the annual Technology budgeting process
  • Orchestrating the business case process within Technology with close collaboration with the wider Canadian business
  • Establish joint controls for end to end budget management for business case led investments
  • Monitoring of the overall Technology operational budgets for people, hardware, software and Cloud
  • Actuals and Forecasts
  • Timely reporting/engagement with the Technology leadership team
  • Lead on the Vendor/Supplier governance framework and establish controls, which includes
  • Timely engagement and strategy reviews with key suppliers and Canadian Tech leadership
  • Monthly Governance meetings to review/track SLAs/KPIs and provide escalation support for suppliers and internal teams
  • Engagement/collaboration with Equifax Global Sourcing
  • Establish processes with the Canadian Delivery, Corporate Services and global teams to drive transparency and reporting of compliance to Technology assurance measures like Patch/Vulnerability compliance, EOSL reporting, Security initiatives & Audit related activities.
  • Establish strong working relationships with relevant International and Global stakeholders in P&E and other teams in order to achieve/ensure the success of the programme.
  • Continually strive to achieve process optimisation/automation of reporting and operations for the teams using industry best practices and/or EFX global standards.

What experience You need

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, business or related technical field required
  • 10+ years technology delivery experience including management in a dynamic environment, preferably in a financial services or technology services organization
  • 5+ years of management responsibility, preferably including leading a team of project management professionals
  • Experience in leading and/or establishing Agile PMO processes and governance framework for the departments/organizations previously worked in
  • Proven experience with strategic planning, project prioritization and reporting in a highlymatrixed environment
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing, guiding and providing mentorship to varying levels of staff
  • Excellent organizational skills, adaptability and experience working in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team leader
  • Excellent stakeholder management (at different levels) using verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create presentations for steering committees and executive leadership
  • Strong consultative, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Passion for and the ability to learn new technologies
  • Experience in G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Data Analysis and dashboarding skills
