We're seeking a passionate and experienced
Manager, Business Communications, to join our strategic Marketing & Communications team, reporting to the Director, Business Communications.


As a leader on the team, you will inspire and shape the execution of marketing and communications strategies that primarily support our ATCO Electric business priorities and provide strategic advice and support to the Executive Leadership team.

  • Lead, develop, support and inspire a team of experienced communications professionals.

  • Effectively communicate business strategies to both internal and external audiences.
  • Participate as a strategic partner with the senior leadership team, providing strategic council, supporting the business planning process including defining business goals, objectives and metrics as well as providing formal communications for executives.
  • Oversee, lead, create, manage and measure the execution of integrated marketing and communications plans that support business growth for external audiences (including customers, community stakeholders, municipal, provincial and federal governments, media, industry associations, Indigenous communities, investors etc.).
  • Liaise with leadership team and internal customers (Human Resources, Health & Safety, Operations, Call Centres, IT etc.) to develop and implement comprehensive internal communications plans in support of cascading of business strategies, employee engagement, performance management and development initiatives, pension and benefits communications, health and safety, recognition, etc.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications colleagues from across ATCO in building skills and developing creative solutions that elevate our work.

Qualifications:


  • A postsecondary degree in communications, public relations or a related field (experience and equivalencies may be considered).
  • 10+ years of progressive, related experience in marketing and communications.
  • Strong people leader with exceptional client management skills.
  • Experience supporting Executive communications.
  • A proven big picture, creative, strategic thinker.
  • Experience developing comprehensive communications plans and programs.
  • Solid project management, planning and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills (written and verbal).
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and Teams.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop KPIs, goals and benchmarks and drive the performance of campaigns and initiatives in the pursuit of longterm growth.
  • A strong customerservice focus, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of the energy or utilities (specifically electricity) sector would be an asset.
  • Professional membership with CPRS / IABC or other related professional association would be an asset.
