Here's the job opportunity


In this role you will provide support to the Manager of Regulatory Compliance for the implementation of many compliance initiatives including the Privacy legislations, Code of Conduct, mandatory compliance training, fair treatment of customers, and for tasks related to cybersecurity, unclaimed property, AODA, CASL, and the business continuity plan.

You will also review all reported privacy incidents and gather and review information and material to determine the impact.

Communication will be key as you will correspond with employees, advisors, and managing general agents to gather information and report to Privacy Commissioners and regulatory bodies.

As a Privacy Impact Assessment Specialist you will

  • Provide support for the execution of the Business Conduct and Ethics policy
  • In collaboration with manager, design conflict of interest questionnaire certification
  • Update existing training modules and quizzes, ensuring they are current and continuously improved
  • Prepare reference guide materials and draft launch communications
  • Coordinate with the Learning and Development team to ensure training programs are functioning and accessible
  • Monitor and track the completion of training programs and report results
  • Support Business Unit specific training
  • Document and update policies, procedures and frameworks related to the fair treatment of customers
  • Analyze and handle privacy and security incidents reported to the Privacy Office
  • Notify clients, Privacy Commissioners and Regulators of any RROSH breaches
  • Develop reports and trending analysis and provide support in improving privacy and cybersecurity programs

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 35 years Compliance experience in Financial Services
  • Postsecondary secondary education that would align with the position
  • Technical knowledge in life insurance products, features, and distribution channels
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingualism is an asset)
  • Good analytical skills
  • Insurance Industry designations or equivalent; for privacy, cybersecurity, Fair Treatment of Customers is an asset
