Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production.

We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S.

supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries.

Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas.

Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination.

We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.


How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?:
Key Responsibilities

  • Works to achieve Zero Accidents by taking a leadership role in safety
  • Models exemplary safety behavior, leads by personal example
  • Insists on adherence to administrative and operational policies and procedures
  • Implements and maintains the Life Critical system within area of responsibility
  • Acts as Zone Operations Director as needed
  • Ensures that quality standards are met (FDA, Customer contract requirements); MOC and Incident Reviews are consistently applied and documented
  • Understands and drives the implementation of initiatives aimed improve at Operational Excellence and Efficiencies
  • Leads and mentors Plant personnel to achieve Zone targets
  • Actively supports the plants to improve Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensures that company initiatives to maintain safe work environments and mechanical integrity of plant systems are fully implemented at every facility
  • Ensures that all facilities are in complete compliance with all applicable government regulations (Federal, State and Locali.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Promotes positive interaction between our facilities and the local community at large, according to the guidelines of Responsible Care and company policy
  • Ensures that management systems and processes exist in facilities to conduct effective HSE self audits and to drive to zero HSE violations
  • Participates in RCFAs of major incidents within the Zone
  • Acts as the Quality Controller for all MOC's and participates in Safety reviews and PSSRs per the MOC procedure.
  • Conducts training sessions as necessary to carry corporate initiatives to field locations
  • Works closely with Plant Managers and Operations Managers to understand and track plant vulnerabilities
  • Ensures that the Production Scorecards (measurement systems in support of efficiency improvement and selected initiatives) are uptodate and used within all facilities
  • Promotes constructive professional interactions between the various divisions, locations, departments, and companies that make up the Air Liquide Group
  • Answers technical process questions, understands operational issues, and can provide troubleshooting assistance at all times.
  • Brings issues of noncompliance to the attention of the Zone Production Director
  • Lead Zone initiatives activities as required
  • Acts as the zone representative for new projects in the zone
  • Facilitates communication/cooperation between the Maintenance Center and Plant Managers to assure that turnarounds are properly planned and executed
  • Prepares startup plans for new facilities to ensure initial operation of the plant is ontime, onbudget
  • Technical and working understanding of an Air Separation plant and a Nitrogen Liquefaction Unit. Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) and Cogeneration Unit would be of value.

Are you a MATCH?:


  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable AND 5+ years process industry experience
  • Technical expertise in operation, enhancement, and maintenance of the facilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interface with multiple support groups and provide a clear message.
  • Able to track and measure progress versus objectives, taking action to close gaps; supervise, lead and coach both direct, indirect reports and Director.
  • Professional integrity at all times in the performance of duties. Is a role model both for the members of our team and others within Air Liquide.
