Scope for the position:

The
Distribution Operations Manager has overall responsibility of distribution operations at our Puresource location(s).

This role will lead and develop a team of salaried and hourly talent including Warehouse Manager, Supervisor & Team Leads.

This role will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of Safety, Quality, Customer Experience, Attendance, & Productivity of the department.

To achieve this, the Distribution Operations Manager, is expected to provide the team with the tools needed for success while driving improvements in productivity and efficiency through data-driven decision and analytical problem-solving.

This role will also play a key role in bringing improvements to Puresource distribution facilities and maintaining our customer experience by ensuring customer orders are delivered in time with highest quality.


Basic function, Duties and Responsibilities of the position:

  • Responsible for managing the warehouse operations & processes associated with Labor Scheduling, Receiving, putting away, Inventory Control & Cycle Counting, Picking, Shipping, Assembly and Reverse Logistics.
  • Supports and ensures compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations; maintains and coordinates all areas of warehouse security.
  • Monitors performance and productivity measures for the operation using KPI methodology.
  • Supervises warehouse staff including performance management, development, and training.
  • Ensures that warehouse material handling equipment is maintained and in proper working order.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, to meet service requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with Warehouse, and other departments.
  • Manage all shipping and receiving records, handle questions or concerns of shipping shortages, overages or missed picks, and resolve with customer service.
  • Responsible for ensuring that deliveries are shipped with appropriate carrier.
  • Meet or exceed established goals relative to ontime delivery, shipping and inventory accuracy, and production schedules.
  • Collaborates with Outside Sales and Inside Sales department regarding shipping and receiving inquiries.
  • Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximize employee morale and productivity.
  • Effectively manage employee concerns, resolving issues, managing performance, and providing support.
  • Analyzes process workflow, employee requirements and implement ideas for improvement.
  • Implementing and executing improvements projects in other warehouses.
  • Willing to Receive products or pick orders during peak or staffing needs.
  • Manage and ensure the adherence to Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications, education, experience:


  • College degree in Supply Chain & Logistics, Operations Management, or any other relevant combination of education and experience
  • Minimum experience of 510 years in a similar position (in shipping and warehouse management)
  • Cherry Picker (Manup) & Reach certification. Or wiling to get trained and use this equipment.


  • Trademark computer skills

  • MS Office (Strong MS Excel skills considered an asset)
  • Experience using Oracle is considered an asset.

  • Lean Six Sigma green belt or higher is a plus.
  • Customerfocused and resultsoriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change while improving efficiencies and processes. Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
  • Uses creativity to seek quality solutions and process improvements.
