Are you an experienced frontline leader that enjoys mentoring, managing, and coordinating? We're seeking a team lead to join our Upgrading Hydrotreating team in Fort McMurray.


The Team Lead is accountable for the day-to-day management of safe, stable, efficient, and reliable production within the operating area and all aspects of personnel management at the frontline level.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 or more years of field operations or related experience in upgrading, refinery or oil and gas industry Supervisory or leadership experience in a complex, dynamic operating environment Deep understanding of maintenance, operations, and process safety standards 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee a unionized workforce in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and ensure development and competency of the crew
  • Ensure all aspects of the Alberta Boilers Safety Association regulations are implemented in accordance with the applicable codes and acts
  • Assist with planning equipment isolation, control of hazardous energy and confined space entry preparation. Maintain a visible presence in the field to foster employee engagement and assess work process effectiveness
  • Prepare and review operational job plans by investigating work requirements, preparing logical breakdowns and sequencing of work tasks taking into account multicraft alignment
  • Lead troubleshooting initiatives and engage appropriate crossfunctional resources to analyze and correct operational and equipment problems


Location & other key details- You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta- The shift schedule is a 6 days on / 6 days off rotation (3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off; 12-hour shifts)- This position is safety sensitive- If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
