Located in one of Edmonton's most vibrant communities, the Metterra & Varscona Hotels on Whyte Ave are looking for an exciting & enthusiastic addition to our housekeeping team

The Houseperson is a front line professional that welcomes guests by maintaining the cleanliness of administration offices, hospitality suites and all common/public areas of the hotels.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the deep cleaning of common and public areas of the hotels.
• Interact with guests to promote a positive image of the property.
• Provide guests with information on hotel and facilities.
• Document any mechanical problems.
• Special projects on a seasonal basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1 year previous cleaning and/or hotel experience required.
• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Selfstarting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Must be willing to "pitchin" and help coworkers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
• Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, and stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
• Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions under limited supervision.
• Must be able to work varied shift work, including weekends and holidays.

• Security clearance required upon offer of employment.

- _Must be completely familiar with the role during hotel emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, the use of Incident Reports and Logbooks._
