Technician, Specialized Services - Saskatoon, Canada - GFL Environmental

Summary:
The Specialized Services Technician will be working alongside a team of highly trained individuals who handle the company's most dynamic projects.
The regular work schedule is an 8-hour day, Monday through Friday however longer days are frequent during the busy times of the year.
The position is based in Saskatoon, SK, however the Specialized Services team travels throughout the Province of Saskatchewan as needed throughout the week.
Job Duties:
- Involved with execution of chemical and petroleum transfers including materials handling.
- Fully engaged as an entrant, man watch, or rescue attendant for Confined Space Entry projects inclusive of tank cleanings.
- Involvement with HAZMAT Emergency Response and responding to spills.
- Involvement with transloading of railcars (Both liquid and solid products)
- Involvement with environmental projects and assisting as required.
- Involvement with technical rescue services.
- Fully engaged with decontamination projects under direction of project leader.
- Participation in projects that are deemed out of scope or require more planning and preparation.
- Willingness to lead by example and work safely, ensuring compliance with all GFL's policies and procedures.
- Affiliation and involvement with various divisions, and various work types throughout the company.
Requirements:
- A Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract is required; Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license would be considered an asset.
- Physically fit and able to wear chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection from time to time as required.
- Ability to be flexible with their schedule and work extended hours as needed; and meet the travel requirements of this position.
- Knowledge and/or experience with vacuum trucks and power wash equipment would be an asset.
