(Environmental Technician)


Responsible for supporting an effective environmental management system and ensuring environmental compliance through monitoring and measurement of raw material consumption, wastewater treatment process, industrial and commercial waste generation and recycling and emissions reporting.


Job Duties & Responsibilities
Review environmental performance data collection and identify areas with potential for improving environmental compliance and/or financial savings.

  • Assist in implementing various environmental programs (i.e. various recycling programs, waste reduction initiatives etc.)
  • Maintain all aspects of Orlick Environmental Management System including participating in internal auditing and reporting on the system,
  • Audit onsite activities at multiple locations to ensure compliance with current regulations and Orlick's documented procedures.
  • Collect required information to complete mandatory reporting information such as National Pollution Release Inventory & environmental compliance approvals.
  • Review wastewater treatment and cooling water system performance results for applicable Orlick locations and implement corrective action activities as required.

Qualifications
Environmental Technician or Technologists Diploma

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role managing environmental activities in an industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with provincial and federal environmental legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excelbased data entry and interpretation
  • Mechanical, handson person capable of troubleshooting processes and recommending corrective action.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize job functions.

Salary information:
per hour (Salary is dependent on experience)


  • Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills which may be adapted to the position. _
