Role DescriptionThis is a contract on-site role for a Cost Accountant based in Richmond, BC. The primary responsibilities include analyzing financial data, preparing cost analyses, and maintaining accurate cost accounting records.
The role involves preparing financial statements, creating journal entries, and working closely with other departments to inform budgeting and cost control processes.
The Cost Accountant will play a key role in identifying cost reduction opportunities and ensuring financial efficiency throughout the organization.
QualificationsProficiency in Cost Accounting and creating accurate cost analyses
Experience with Financial Statements, including preparation and review
Strong Analytical Skills for identifying trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities
Expertise with Journal Entries and other foundational accounting practices
Knowledge of Finance, including budgeting and financial planning
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Prior experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing or construction-related industry is a plus
