Investment and Trade Division:


The Investment and Trade Division leads Manitoba's efforts to compete on a national and global scale to identify and secure high value import/export, investment and growth opportunities and supports the business community to expand, grow and navigate government environments and the local, national and international business ecosystems.


Finance and Corporate Shared Services Division:

A shared services Division within Economic Development Investment and Trade (EDIT) but providing services to Advanced Education and Training (AET) and Labour and Immigration (LI) - is responsible for the comptrollership of the 3 Departments (EDIT), (AET) and (LI).

Finance and Accountability has full responsibility for departmental financial operations, program and funding direction, budget preparation, control and management. These tasks include; co-ordination of the annual estimates, forecasts, and financial processes; development and reporting of financial management information; budget management and control; daily accounting functions; and audit of financial transactions for compliance to central government policies

Note:
this competition will also be used to fill Financial Clerk (CL3) positions within the Department of Economic, Development, Investment and Trade


Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience performing administratitive duties in an office environment including: data entry, preparing specialized or highly complex documents, reviewing documentation, as well as manual and electronic file maintenance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective written communication skills with experience drafting and editing correspondence or other communications.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, interact effectively with team members, and seek advice when required.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to assess difficult situation, identify the problem, determine the solution and implement.

Desired Criteria:

  • Experience performing accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and/or creating financial reports (For Financial Clerk positions only).
  • Experience working with SAP or an equivalent financial management software (for Financial Clerk positions only).
  • Postsecondary education in Administrative or Business Administration studies including finance.

Duties:


For Investment and Trade:


The Clerk is responsible for supporting the day-to-day client management activities of the Business Navigation, and Trade Export Development Units.

They are a member of a high-performance team and will interact directly with businesses, economic development partners and industry stakeholders; support information gathering, complete call summaries, ensure accurate information is inputted into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, along with being responsible for unit activity reports.

The Clerk will support client request intake and triage through multiple platforms.

For Finance and Corporate Shared Services:
