Compensation Range

The Manager, Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of marketing strategies, the success of recruitment key performance indicators, recruitment activities and admissions policies, processes and systems, all designed to attract applicants and yield high-calibre students to the business school's flagship degree programs, which are critical to the school's reputation, resource generation and success.

The position is directly tied to annual revenue generation for the university.

Organizational Status


The Manager works with initiative and considerable autonomy under general supervision, but also collaboratively with the managers in the unit.

The incumbent works with other UBC Sauder units including Marketing and Communications, IT Services, Office Administration, as well as employees at central UBC.

This role is highly visible to the external community, working with prospective students, alumni and partners around the world.

Work Performed


Student Recruitment- Researches and analyses markets and the applicant pool to identify, develop and implement appropriate recruitment policies, tactics and activities to achieve enrolment goals for RHL professional programs, including full-time MBA, Professional MBA, Master of Management and Master of Business Analytics degrees.- Manages and is co-responsible together with the team on the performance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) designed in consultation with the Director, Recruitment and Admissions to track the success of recruitment and yield tactics to support the strategic vision and enrolment targets of the RHL.- Develops, organizes and conducts large scale, multi-faceted recruiting events in person and online.

Represents the business school at recruiting events both internationally and nationally.

This requires in-depth knowledge of the various local market conditions, academic program offerings, admissions policies and procedures, and program services.- Initiates and completes one-on-one advising sessions and follow-up sessions on the features and benefits of the programs to attract high-calibre applicants and students.

This requires thorough knowledge of the competitive marketplace and the features promoted by business schools nationally and internationally.- Explains unfavourable decisions and university policies to applicants who have been refused admission programs.
