    Job Description

    What is the opportunity? As a Bilingual Claims Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support in various capacity to Claims Specialists on new and ongoing claims received within the department in a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary and digital environment. In addition, you also be responsible for answering incoming calls received on all product lines from the general contact centre telephone lines. You will also participate in projects within the department as required. What will you do?
  • Contact clients to obtain information pertaining to their claims and Medical Treatment providers.
  • Complete templated correspondence and send out claims forms as directed by the Contact Centre or Claims Specialist
  • Update all applicable systems as required
  • Handle Claims mails / emails where applicable and redirect them to the appropriate person/area
  • Handle queries within the Intake Mailbox
  • Answer and re-direct all incoming phone calls and email queries with sensitivity, confidentiality and compassion
  • Ensure all calls are answered and call abandoned rates are within service standards
  • Proficiency in all claims legacy and/or new systems
  • Ensure distribution of telephone messages within service standards
  • Assist clients in filling out appropriate claim forms depending on client's request
  • Handle Notification of Life Claims for Deceased Insureds
  • Here's what we need from you: Must-have
  • Bilingual (English and French) – fluency in English and French, both written and spoken
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
  • Proven confidentiality skills in dealing with sensitive information
  • Experience with Microsoft applications

  • Quickly adapt to changing circumstances and the ability to build trust by being inclusive, candid, and sincere
  • Nice to Have
  • 1 -2 years administration experience preferably in the financial or insurance industry
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service/call centre experience
