    The Maintenance Manager is responsible for safety, scheduling, planning preventative maintenance, directing and supervising a large crew of maintenance professionals.

  • Establishing the correct level of staffing in the direct trade ranks as well as the support talent for the maintenance organization
  • The individual will be required to create and establish standard work for the Maintenance department and working with the maintenance planner, establish routines with measurable results on a daily basis
  • Working with the company and the union to establish a training process for the team to enhance their skills and develop the internal talent
  • Setting up a priority-based work order system and measuring the performance of the team to manage this work order system
  • Execute a process to bring key equipment assets back to original manufacturer's specification to increase reliability of operation
  • Reorganize the Maintenance Team work cell to more effectively problem solve and complete assigned tasks
  • Develop a failure analysis process for key component failures, using internal and external resources for analysis and corrective action
  • Develop a 3 year plan to upgrade and improve the building and grounds of the facility to bring it to Masonite Standards
  • Ensure the facility, machines and equipment are taken care of in a timely manner.
  • Management of Critical Spares
  • Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for maintenance work
  • Set the example for the team through walking the walk and demonstrating the key values outlined in the Masonite Framework.
  • Ensure capital projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by manager
  • Education

  • BS Degree or equivalent, experience in a Lean Enterprise or Red Seal Certified;
  • 2-5 years of experience in a management role, in the manufacturing industry;
  • Self-driven, accountable, high integrity, open communicator, strong work ethic;
  • Intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook are required, fast and accurate data entry skills;
  • Strong detail and analytical skills;
  • Proven Leadership Capability in a Lean Enterprise;
  • Strong time management skills.​ Must be able to handle various issues simultaneously and prioritize;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Must be flexible in an ever-changing work environment.
  • The salary range for this position is expected to be from $110,000 to $ 125,000 + bonus + benefits. Base pay depends on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. This information is specific to Aldergrove and may not be applicable to other locations.
