Job Profile:
The Saw Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating the equipment in a safe manner.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Interpretation of plans, specifications or drawings (Blueprints) of products or parts to Be manufactured.
  • Mark dimensions and understand tolerances for parts
  • Operate power saw and use hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and components
  • Inspects and ensures the quality of the parts produced
  • Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor

General Expectations:


  • Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations
  • Participate in safety culture; lead by example
  • Identify nonconformities and participate in their resolution
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Recommend improvements and participate in improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
  • Maintain a wellorganized and clean facility as per Prairie Machine vision
  • Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures
  • Maintain a healthy work environment

Qualifications:


  • Strong mathematical skillset, good with calculations
  • Experience with setup & nesting software
  • Ability to monitor and operate CNC plasma machine
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • 12 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Epicor would be an asset
