    The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are inviting applications to fill an Academic Clinical Immunologist/Allergist or Clinical Pharmacologist position.

    This position will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description of Clinician Investigator (CI) at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.

    The Clinician Investigator position is expected to be 50% clinical and 50% related to research (with some teaching and/or administrative) duties.

    The successful candidate will have clinical expertise in the assessment of adverse drug reactions (ADRs), with particular experience in the assessment, testing, and management of patients with suspected drug allergy.

    This includes expertise in skin testing, patch/intradermal testing, oral drug challenge, and the management of adverse reactions including anaphylaxis and delayed hypersensitivity reactions.

    Research excellence will be assessed by the documentation of research grants, publications in leading journals, invited conference presentations, awards, accolades, and related accomplishments.


    The successful applicants will join the Division of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, which provides inpatient consultation services for all manner of ADRs, and ambulatory care related to the evaluation of drug allergies at the Sunnybrook Drug Safety Clinic.

    The successful applicants' primary clinical work will take place within the Drug Safety Clinic, but opportunities will also exist to evaluate inpatients with ADRs including DRESS, SJS, TEN, angioedema, DILI, and those requiring acute desensitization.

    In addition to providing excellent clinical care, successful applicants will liaise with primary care, supervise of trainees in a clinical care setting, engage in formal teaching and maintain a scholarly record of achievement.


    have or be eligible for certification in either Clinical Immunology and Allergy or Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physiciansand Surgeons of Ontario.


    Estimated annual remuneration will be in the range of $250,000-$400,000 (fee-for-service estimate) commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, experience, and volume of patients seen.

    The successful candidates will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered.

    Successful candidates will be able to participate in the department's group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans.
