Reporting to the Supervisor, Children & Youth Services, the Junior Camp Counsellor is responsible for implementing Summer Camp Programs.

REQUIREMENTS

Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in camp training & agency orientation.
Support the direction and instruction provided by Camp Leaders and Camp Coordinator.
Actively ensure camp programs are organized and implemented.
Provide positive guidance to camp volunteers.
Maintain a clean & safe workplace and environment.
Maintain positive & professional relationships with peers, children & community members.
Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding of working with children & youth.
Able to multitask.
Ability to accept supervision and seek counsel.
Dependable, punctual and flexible.
Second language an asset.
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Currently enrolled or recently completed a diploma, degree and/or other certificate in a postsecondary institution.
Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.
Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a 'Clear' or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.
Must have uptodate vaccinations against COVID19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
