Benko Pet Foods, is a local maker of premier, fresh and natural dog treats.

We are currently hiring for a Full-Time position to be a machine operator in our production department.

Your main responsibility will include working with our grinder to manufacture the raw animal materials for our products, a well as cooking the product and cleaning the facility.

Additional tasks may include receiving product off of trucks, and dealing with an ever changing and evolving work environment that is always growing.

This job requires the ability to perform physically demanding, repetitious tasks, and you must have the ability to lift 50lbs and must be comfortable with raw animal products.


Responsibilities:

• Your main responsibility will be to operate our grinder. You will be trained by our staff and in house training programs to safely operate the grinder. In order to effectively do this task you must be able to repetitively lift up 50 pounds and keep up to an automatic sausage stuffing machine.
• You will occasionally be asked to work with other members of the raw manufacturing team to complete their daily tasks. You must be able to work closely with a small team.
• Cleaning the facility daily using safe food handling techniques. Training will be provided on raw food contamination.
• Receiving product off of trucks using pallet jacks.
• Must be able to keep up in a fastpaced production environment.
• Deal with repetitive tasks
• Comfortable working in a hot production environment during summer months, and cold environment in the winter

- Shifts can vary, including potential Saturdays/Sundays during peak season and early start times

Qualifications:

• Physically capable of continuous heavy lifting up to and over 50lbs is a must for this role.
• Proven attention to quality and detail
• Positive attitude and the ability of communicate effectively to work with a small team and reinforce a positive company culture
• Understand the importance of safety and quality when working in a meat production facility.
• Flexible to work overtime as production cycles increase due to demand during our busy season (November to January)
• Remote location means of transportation is essential.
• Safety Shoes are required (Green triangle/Antislip)

Salary:
$18.00 per hour


Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay
