Job description
The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to Project Managers and Superintendents in the coordination, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting, and quality control functions of a project.
Responsibility
- Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to administrative duties, update schedules and budgets, maintain cost control, and monitor labor material and equipment activities on the project.
- Work with Project Managers and Superintendent to update project schedule and budget to identify potential construction issues.
- Assist with the review, coordination, and implementation of the project-specific safety plan.
- Attend all project team meetings, record meeting minutes, action items, and present updates.
- Ensure that project site and company assets are secure and maintain a safe and respectful working environment at all times.
- Monitor project change management process, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes and optional changes in project scope, and present to the Project Manager when required.
- Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions and change orders.
- Obtain and provide written documentation for all clarifications and instructions.
- Support Project Manager and Superintendent with creating templates and supporting documents on behalf of project team regarding roles and responsibilities.
- Assist in gathering data required for input of regular status reports for company executives and project steering committees.
- Record change orders and update site drawings.
- Build effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support Fairbrother's core values.
- Ensure responsibility for own health and safety, and that of other workers, visitors to the site(s), the community, and the environment in line with client requirements, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and all applicable government laws and regulations.
Skillsets
1. 3-5 years of construction industry experience.
- Knowledge of construction industry including equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials, quality, safety, construction sequences and building code.
- Ability to create a comprehensive schedule and formulate and administer subcontracts and contract documents.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
Salary:
$25.00-$35.00 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Project management: 3 years (preferred)
