JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Manager's primary responsibilities include understanding customer expectations and needs, outlining quality standards and maintaining quality control processes.

This capable individual excels at root cause analysis, has experience in development and sustainment of manufacturing quality processes, has a proven record of being an exceptional leader, and is fully committed to driving continuous improvement throughout the company.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Must have 5+ years' experience managing a team
  • Has direct knowledge of ecoating and/or extensive experience in other metal finishing processes
  • Must be fluent in English, both written & oral
  • 3 years' experience with IATF auditing

Education

  • Postsecondary diploma / Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Training and experience in 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles is an asset
  • Training and experience in Statistical Process Analysis is an asset
  • Training and experience in developing and managing of Control Plans and PFMEA is required

Technical Skills/Competence

  • Extensive understanding of the ecoating process or related and easily transferable metal finishing/manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Able to perform in a team environment, collaborating with all levels of the organization
  • Effective problemsolving skills, including the ability to solve problems at a root cause level, and determine corrective actions necessary to sustain improvements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to execute on projects and deliver results that span across different departments
  • Good understanding of customer quality requirements and experience dealing with customer issues
  • Customer focus approach with good understanding of business needs vs. customer requirements
  • Ability to use data to develop KPIs, manage them and drive measurable results
  • Enthusiastic attitude, with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Ability to balance a variety of concurrent demands in a friendly and professional manner
  • Strong time management and organizational skills a must

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Manager are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with all departments, take ownership of the quality management system; develop and execute company quality standards and quality assurance program
  • Responsible for maintenance of IATF compliance, including required annual audits
  • Responsible for the completion of PPAPs at the beginning of new program launches
  • Develop and manage review of SOPs and drive customer focus
  • Evaluate failures, identify cause and responsibility along with initiating corrective and preventative actions
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Develop and supervise quality systems effectiveness by reporting timely about external and internal quality metrics
  • Ensure quality is built into ecoating process Provide input on new rack designs to ensure that finished products will meet customer expectations
  • Participate in daily production meetings; relay and discuss pertinent information as it relates to production
  • Conduct training of junior quality personnel as needed
  • Ensure proper staffing of your department
  • Lead and mentor the quality team and encourage open communication
  • Lead by example and have a good balance of handson work
  • Manage and execute annual performance reviews for your team
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct
