The Sourcing Manager for Roots will be responsible for the following:

Negotiate and confirm garment F.O.B pricing for categories on a timely basis in order to meet and exceed Roots IMO goals.
Develop and maintain seasonal global gross pricing margin reports and costing strategies; encompassing the communication of costing status, to develop solutions to improve the pricing margin and ensure all calendar timelines are met.
Manage any revisions to the sourcing strategy, including counter sourcing.
Work with the Product Development team to develop new products aligning with the appropriate cost structure and overall design intent (from concept to commercialization).
Develop capabilities with existing factories and work with departments to anticipate future garment technologies and trends.
Build strong, lasting relationship with vendors and crossfunctional teams (Buyers, Design, Quality Assurance and Product Development) to help foster an environment of partnership and trust including the successful on boarding of new vendors.
Lead and develop projects around process efficiency, costing tools, capability improvement and sourcing strategies.
Manage weekly WIP review and track development progress.
Lead the Production and work with Technical Design teams to deliver costing plans, sourcing strategies, fit processes and product development each season (4x per year).
Ensure timely, effective communications on production status in development, quality, delivery and cost.
Participate in the evolution of our Strategic Sourcing Plans by aligning the needs of the Brand (source country, construction, price point, innovation) with Warehouse source opportunities.
Drive improved performance across Price, Quality, Delivery, and Corporate Social Responsibility for Roots.
Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in Business, Fashion or Design.

years of experience in retail apparel sourcing including a strong background in overseas sourcing, manufacturing, materials, costing, product development and quality control.

Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills.
Solid understanding of global sourcing trends and strategies and an expert in the apparel manufacturing process, principles, and continuous improvement.
Strong cost negotiation skills and product manufacturing knowledge is essential.
Experience traveling to and working with factories overseas.
Well versed in foreign trade agreements to ensure we are manufacturing in the right countries, factories, and mills.
Ability to multitask different projects with strong attention to detail to meet deadlines.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
Demonstrated ability to understand Design's fit and overall styling intent.
Sound communication and presentation skills.
