- Develops and manages the planning and scheduling of work, budgeting and cost control, safety and environmental management of the operations team.
- Accountable for the success of regular operational duties, including processing facility operations, quality control and testing, wheel loader operations, and highway dry bulk carrier loadout operations
- Contributes to and executes plant business plan and meets or exceeds economic and operational objectives
- Leads development of and implements organizational plans regarding new programs for plant operations, and maintenance
- Questions unsafe or improper conditions and operating procedures, and you understand and comply with the occupational safety and security laws and practices that apply to your work location, position, or area of responsibility. You consider psychological safety, the safety of our assets, as well as the safety of our data and information to be key components of safety.
- Understand, comply and enhance all safety rules and company policies. Actively participate and be engaged in health, safety, environmental and financial improvement programs
- Responsible for reducing environmental contraventions and for developing the Proactive Environmental Performance list
- Leads Ashor's regular communications with raw material supplier regarding supply quality, rate, and processes
- Interfaces with site supervisor and crew to ensure operation and maintenance plans, including plant shutdowns and operational issues meet the business objectives
- Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
- Significant knowledge of the operations and maintenance of an industrial facility with mechanical equipment is strongly preferred: rotating equipment, conveyors, repair of wear components, silos, lubrication schedules
- Experience with electrical equipment and controls is an asset
- Experience with heavy equipment and loadout operations is an asset
- Familiarity with budgeting, inventory procedures, cost control, business planning, health, safety and environmental systems management
- Excellent communication skills with knowledge of MS office applications
- Ability to plan, organize and implement activities successfully with a high level of personal initiative and motivation
- Demonstrated leadership in the management of people who will create an environment that supports effective teamwork

ASHCOR Technologies Ltd. is a subsidiary of ATCO and the largest independent marketer of fly ash in Western Canada.
We are looking for a passionate Plant Manager to join us in the exciting work we do in the Operations Team. This position reports to the Operations Director, Ashcor and will work out of the Halkirk, Alberta facility. The Plant Manager is responsible for all aspects of plant operations while ensuring compliance with all people relations, safety, environmental, policies and regulations. You will be responsible for providing leadership and overall administration of plant operations, and ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and meet the highest quality standards.
