About The Role

We're looking for a strong Associate Underwriter located Toronto to support the Auto Dealership Program within the Commercial Programs Unit).

This is an ideal role for an individual with high accuracy, strong attention to detail to process complex commercial files to meet tight deadlines.

It is also suited to those who are seeking to build new relationships with both broker and insurer partners.

What You'll Do

Assist in the nderwriting of renewal, new business and endorsements according to underwriting guidelines, authority limits and company standards

Underwrite third-party coverages (K&R, Legal Expense, Cyber and D&O)

Responding to broker requests and inquiries with a sense of urgency

Build strong relationships with both our broker and insurer partners

Manage assigned tasks such as risk control requests, accounts receivable inquiries, participation on reporting data

Participate in team/company/partner meetings

Maintain knowledge of company and industry Underwriting policies, procedures and standards

Supporting business development and promotional activities

Manage an existing book of business and meet new business production targets

What You'll Need for Success

Minimum 2 years of Commercial Underwriting Experience

Previous MGA/Insurer experience is desired but not mandatory

CIP and/or CAIB an asset

RIBO License Required (or obtain within the first 3 months of employment)

Experience on EPIC, RTM or equivalent broker management system an asset

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel and Outlook

Drive for excellence in customer service and sales

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required

Professional, positive and courteous in all interactions with customers and co-workers

A strong work ethic, good organizational skills and the ability to work within a team environment

Strong attention to detail, time management and analytical skills
