The Assistant Store Operations Manager is responsible for supporting Eataly's grocery, fresh counters and quick service restaurants (QSR) operations of the store.
Reports directly to the Store Operations Manager and supports in managing the Retail and QSR Managers, Service Leads, as well as hourly Associates.
- Assists in overseeing the store's retail and QSR operations to maximize profitability while upholding the company's mission, values, policies, quality and guest experience standards
- Supports the Store Operations Manager in building and leading a highperforming team: sources and hires, effectively trains, motivates, evaluates, develops and retains talent
- Collaborates with the management team to optimize schedules and the deployment of the team to minimize labor costs and maximize sales
- Supports the execution and implementation of strategies around pricing, merchandizing, new products and promotions aimed at increasing efficiencies and driving sales
- Ensures the team always offers a consistent, high level of service to all guests
- Assists in managing merchandise and creating product lists, identifying rollouts and phaseouts of products
- Estimates food and beverage needs, and requisitions or purchases food, beverage, supplies and equipment; receives and checks orders to ensure that they adhere to specifications
- Contributes ideas for continuous improvement in retail and QSR operations and guest service
- Assists in preparing weekly updates on the Retail and QSR departments and collaborates interdepartmentally to plan activities and achieve all store goals
- Optimizes warehouse space utilization by organizing and arranging inventory efficiently
- Monitors inventory levels and takes proactive measures to prevent discrepancies and troubleshoots errors as directed
- Enters invoices and processes inventory movements into the inventory management system
- Supports the departments with physical counts and inventory cycle counts
- Liaises between departments and vendors' representatives to ensure proper receiving and inventory management system remains up to date
- Documents, investigates and resolves employee and guest incidents
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of management experience in a highvolume, fastpaced quick service or retail venue
- Exceptional communication, leadership, motivational and teambuilding skills
- Demonstrated problemsolving, organizational, analytical and business management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and common retail Point of Sales systems
- Experience with Italian products and wine
- Experience and knowledge in coffee, coffee production and manual espresso machines
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to exert wellpaced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
- Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, drink blender, juicer slicer, pasta machine or cash register as needed
