The Opportunity - Business Development Manager:

You will be a key member of the Business Development team and will work closely with the Director, Business Development to ensure the growth and development of our key payments platform.

You are a hunter with a keen eye for analytics and can work with a data set to determine optimal paths forward.

You will be a key driver of revenue optimization activities as we continue to scale growth globally.

You will work with your peers in Product Development and Marketing to operationalize new lines of growth for FreshBooks, and with Sales to optimize for revenue.


NOTE:
This role is hybrid, meaning that the team comes together in the office once per week.


What You'll Do as a Business Development Manager:


  • Streamline Pricing Programs: Conduct a comprehensive review of existing pricing programs to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure pricing aligns with market demands and maximizes revenue generation.

Foster Partnerships: Establish strong relationships with both current and prospective partners. Drive enablement initiatives to ensure partners are equipped to promote and sell payment solutions effectively across sales-assisted and marketing channels.

Sales Enablement: Work closely with the sales organization to enhance their understanding of payment solutions, providing them with the necessary knowledge and winning strategies to effectively sell online payment options to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Payments Education System: Collaborate with training staff to further develop and maintain a robust payments education system. Ensure that it effectively educates employees on payment solutions, industry trends, and best practices.

  • Online Payment Conversion: Take the lead in devising strategies to transition offline payment methods, such as checks and cash, to online payments.
Implement these plans with measurable goals and track progress to demonstrate tangible results.

Collaborative Coordination: Serve as a liaison between the Payments team, Sales, Finance, and Marketing and coordinate efforts to target specific customer segments and develop revenue-generation initiatives that drive profitability.

Management Reporting: Provide regular status updates to the management team regarding payments revenue growth, partnership progress, and key initiatives. Offer actionable insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.


What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to effectively present and demonstrate FreshBooks while comprehending its value proposition for SMBs seeking streamlined tools and efficient business management.
  • Enthusiasm for payments, and skills in leveraging datadriven insights.

You'll Stand Out If:


  • You bring a strong background in Sales or Relationship Management within the Payments industry, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience
OR

  • You possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Sales Enablement and have successfully collaborated with finance, marketing and sales teams as a crossfunctional leader, demonstrating your drive for strategic alignment and delivering impactful enablement initiatives across multiple departments.
