What you'll be doing

Marketing Solution & Client Offers (MSCO) is responsible for CIBC's direct marketing programs.

The MSCO Direct Marketing Analytics (DMA) is responsible for supporting direct marketing efforts by driving and creating a culture of data-driven decision making across the team.

The group provides analytics and reporting that enable direct marketing strategy by engaging in lead, contact and sales evaluation, campaign performance measurement and other client profile centric analyses.


Reporting to the Director, Direct Marketing Analytics, as the Analytics Consultant, you will be an individual contributor on the team.

You will be accountable for supporting through analytics and consulting the needs of one (or more) of our Marketing stakeholders, Lines of Business and/or Channel and Segments partners.

You will be expected to own engagement for high-impact internal and cross-functional initiatives such as: initiatives related to Customer Life Cycle Management, Data Strategy, Customer Segmentation, Direct Marketing campaign performance assessments and insight driving.

With a focus on value creation, you will be expected to lead and execute the integration of analytical results into business processes to drive business value.

You will build and maintain good working relationships with other MSCO and Marketing departments, as well as with business partners.

How you'll succeed- Creative Thinking - Developing Direct Marketing Analytics (DMA) vision and plans, to support Marketing management in identifying new marketing opportunities, optimizing Marketing resource utilization, and controlling expenditures (Return on Marketing Investment).- Relationship Building - Working in cooperation with other Marketing teams (e.g.

Enterprise Client Interaction and Campaign Management, Client Offers, etc.) and Products/Channels groups, in order to better the usability of all data relevant to CIBC Marketing. Participating, cooperating, and contributing to cross-functional project teams to drive process and performance improvements.

Consulting with internal and external sources, colleagues, and others to discuss information and best practices.- Analysis and Reporting - Building meaningful analyses and reports to support internal channels' tactical and strategic activities.

Analyzing Marketing opportunity drivers for CIBC, relative to expected performance and providing insights to management. Tracking and analyzing of Marketing performance and behaviour across campaigns, products and channels.

Understanding and explaining unanticipated variations from expected performance and behaviours and providing recommendations to management.- Strategy - Proactively identifying process and practice improvement opportunities and influencing senior leaders to drive changes.

Identifying business problems where analytical techniques can be effectively applied to achieve core business objectives.

Supporting the data strategy within the team and developing models and "what-if" scenarios to demonstrate the range of options and potential impacts available to management and clients.

Who you are- You have solid data management skills/expertise and give meaning to data. You are versed with data management tools and enjoy investigating complex problems.

You are able to convert data into information and are confident in your ability to communicate detailed findings and recommendations in an impactful way.- You can demonstrate experience in developing, building and maintaining analytical dashboards.

Python and/or Tableau desired. You have the ability to work with large volumes of data to derive key trends, patterns, insights. You can demonstrate a strong understanding of analytical tools and processes such as correlation, regression, optimization, and SAS. It is an asset to have a quantitative background with a B.Sc. or equivalent (MBA preferred).- You're passionate about people.
