    Our private sector client, an Ottawa-based CPA firm, urgently seeks a Junior Payroll Administrator to join their team on a hybrid basis (3 days a week on-site). If that sounds like something you'd thrive in, keep on reading

    About you

    To be considered, you will need:

    • 2+ years of experience in full-cycle union and non-union Canadian payroll
    • College Diploma in Business Accounting, bookkeeping or related field
    • Working knowledge of at minimum one accounting software is required
    • Working knowledge of workflow management tools and Microsoft Suite are assets
    • Ability to manage a client portfolio for all client payroll needs
    • Able to develop and maintain strong client relationships
    • Willingness to take initiative and accept responsibility
    • Have a strong learning mindset and can ramp up quickly for new clients and industries
    • Ability to work under pressure and stay organized in a fast-paced environment with multiple assignments with deadlines/priorities
    • Can thrive working independently and make sound judgements; problem solve as needed

    About the role

    If hired, you will:

    • Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple companies using online or desktop accounting/payroll software
    • Integrate into the books and records of the client's clientele
    • Follow up with clients as needed to maintain accurate payroll processes
    • Work with clients to provide ad-hoc information as requested; problem-solve for clients when needed
    • Provide monthly & quarterly reporting, including payroll, GST, HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.
    • Communicate efficiently and effectively with the manager
    • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients
    • Maintain clear documentation for review by partners/managers or external entities (CRA)
