Qualifications:
Essential:
- Postsecondary education/training in Office Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. An equivalent combination of education/training and related experience may be considered.
- Experience providing administrative support to a team of professionals including senior level staff
- Strong written communication skills to draft, format and edit correspondence, meeting minutes, briefing notes, letters, memos and reports to Senior Officials
- Experience coordinating financial activities related to budget preparation and monitoring, expenditures processing and cash flow monitoring.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently under mínimal supervision.
- Strong verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and interact effectively with team members, clients, and the general public.
- Political acumen with the ability to be tactful, diplomatic and exercise sound judgment in working with highly sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner
- Experience working with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Desired:
- Ability to communicate fluently in French.
- Knowledge of current Pan-Canadian economic, labour market and political conditions.
Duties:
The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative coordination services and project support to the FLMM Secretariat Director, Advisors, and representatives of the Forum of Labour Market Ministers (FLMM), to assist with the effective management and advancement of FLMM priorities and objectives.
The position will support the day-to-day activities of the FLMM Secretariat and coordinate the logistics of all FLMM engagement activities, and also oversee and maintain Secretariat's budgets, invoices/records etc., to support financial administration processes.
The Administrative Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for FLMM representatives in 14 jurisdictions seeking information, support, and assistance related to the FLMM, the FLMM Secretariat, and its working groups.
The incumbent responds to inquiries from a variety of contacts including Senior Officials from other governments and representatives of external organizations and stakeholders.
