We are seeking for Child and Family Support Workers (Full-Time or Part-Time)




MONDAY TO FRIDAY:
8AM-6PM (NO WEEKENDS)


What will be your role?


The Child and Family Support Worker will be working in the community performing a range of activities in the caring of and safety of children aged 0 to 6 years old.

This may include but not limited to bathing, changing diapers, feeding, preparing formula, infant stimulation, preparing and servicing meals, preparing lunches for school age children, tidy after meals, supervision children as well as performing light housekeeping, laundry if parent is not physically able due to medical conditions.

In addition, your role is to provide emotional support, teaching, and guidance to new parents.

Hours may vary depending on caseload. Min. 21 hours and Max. 35 hours a week.

Required Qualifications:


  • PSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution with experience in Infant/Childcare Required
  • Early Childhood Childcare Assistant, Mothercraft, or Childcare Certificate
  • Or more than 3years of experience working with children Aged 04 in family homes and community agencies or in hospital settings an asset
  • Comfortable to travel between homes within the assigned community, and in Family and Child Shelters
  • Effective verbal and written English language skills
  • Ability to travel across the City of Toronto
  • Must be flexible and able to support a diverse client group including parents with medical and mental health issues
  • Physically able to provide safe and timely care to child/children to vulnerable families who have been referred by various community agencies
  • Demonstrate ability to recognize safety issues, communicate clearly and be an effective problem solver
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with the children and their families.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is a definite asset
  • Ability to speak a second language is a definite asset
