Safehaven serves individuals with disabilities and their families through respite and residential programs at our Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Woodbridge, Thornhill and Aurora facilities.

That's why we are currently exploring opportunities to expand our service offerings beyond children to include adults, developing programs and services to care for more medically complex individuals, and implementing innovative therapy and recreational programs for our existing and future clients.
Role Summary:
The
Human Resources Associate is part of the HR team and works on all the Human Resources areas and the Human Resources Associate directly report to Human Resources Manager.
We are looking to hire an experienced HR Associate to support and maintain our diverse human resources projects, recruitment, hiring process, onboarding and employee lifecycle (assisting the employee relations) as well as offboarding.
Our organization is growing at a fast pace, and most of the work will be related to full-cycle recruitment and managing the employee lifecycle of Registered Practical Nurses and Residential Support Workers.
Responsibilities:
- Providing HR support to all employees of the organization responsively and professionally and in accordance with the organization's policies and strategies.
- Develop and manage talent pool.
- Works with the Leadership Team, Client Care Coordinators and Managers to assess the need for talents in relation to the culture of Safehaven, identifying where specific competencies, knowledge or skills are required.
- Ensure all the online and hard copy documents are up to date.
- Work with the HR Generalist to develop company policies and procedures and work as a part of the HR team to support HR projects.
- Manage the onboarding and education/training spreadsheet by maintaining and following up with employees/managers.
- Provide a broad range of HR services in support of business objectives, including performance ownership, workforce planning, merit process, total associate engagement and organizational change.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Work with the hiring managers and HR team to assess the hiring needs.
- Create job descriptions and postings as needed and manage a variety of posting sites.
- Use various recruitment tools to ensure that we attract staff who provide exceptional care to clients and their families.
- Develop a talent pool of RPN and RSW.
- Proactively working with the school to recruit students.
- Schedule interviews with the hiring managers and appropriate team members.
- Manage the hiring process, including checking the references and providing and checking onboarding documents.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field of study or a combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources leading high volume and full cycle recruitment required or recruitment agency experience.
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects within the deadline.
- Ability to conduct different types of interviews (e.g. structured, competencybased and behavioural)
