Description

Summary
Working on a team conducting installation/repair of telecommunication cables. Be responsible for operating different types of vehicles and equipment.

Woking daily in the Hamilton and Niagara areas.


Responsibilities
Working with our Crews to complete Telecommunication repair or installations

Operating Hydro Vac, Mini Ex truck while maintaining the vehicle or equipment.

Digging/holes and trenches, pulling cable

Transport items and/or equipment in a safe manner.

Use various equipment to move and install material according to project plans.

Complete the daily maintenance programs as per equipment specifications.

Complete Driver's logbook & daily vehicle inspections, maintenance and repair reports.


Requirements:

Valid DZ driver's licence or higher.

3 plus year's experience DZ or AZ preferred driving a hydro vac truck or similar with Air Brakes

Know how to operate the Hydro Vac truck in a safe manner.

Directional Drill/Trenching experience an asset.

Comfortable working around underground utility services.

Understand and be able to read locates and maps.

Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.

Familiarity with CVOR requirements.

Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.


Physical Demands
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position.

These include but are not limited to working outdoors and in confined spaces, movement of equipment and/or materials, frequent climbing of ladders, frequent lifting and pulling of telecommunication cable and Conduit lift in excess of 70 lbs.

Stand for extended periods of time.

Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour
