RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
  • Ensure company policies and processes are followed
  • Offer fullcycle sales and service to our customers (residential and commercial building markets)
  • Maximize opportunities for improving net profit and develop ways to correct negative trends
  • Manage and direct the overall operations strategy of yard so that these activities result in meeting or exceed goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers to understand their needs
  • Develop new customers and follow up on sales leads, both as an individual and with the sales team
  • Achieve and exceed established metrics for business success, SG & A, and bottomline profit
  • Optimize and improve the business's market share, savings, and business efficiency
  • Establish short and longterm goals for the location
  • Work with the operations team to optimize inventory levels and reduce slow moving inventory
  • Develop direct and indirect reports to be promotable to the next level of the organization
  • Assists credit with overdue accounts receivables and approve credit memos and return authorizations as needed
  • Resolve customer complaints about service delivery and product quality
  • Ensure accurate inputting and confirmation of sales orders, customer information and related reports which support the sales order entry process

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • A broad knowledge of building supplies
  • Demonstrated ability to selfmanage, show initiative and be proactive
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing a profitmaking operation by setting and meeting goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of overall distribution business
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Diploma or degree in business or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding customer service acumen
