Your Opportunity:
The Service Worker II within the Operating Room is responsible, under limited supervision, to ensure the surgical theatres are stocked with appropriate supplies, ensure the case carts are complete with all required clean /disinfected instrumentation and supplies.
The Service Worker II is required to clearly and effectively communicate with the multi-disciplinary team within the busy fast paced operating room environment.
Under direct supervision the Service Worker II assists with positioning patients prior to surgery and transporting patients.Description:
As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff.
In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). At least 2 years of previous Service Worker experience. Ability to comprehend, speak, read, and write English fluently and communicate with a multi-disciplinary team of health care providers. Ability to walk and stand for full 8-hour shift. Ability to carry, push, and pull beds and OR equipment weighing greater than 50lbs. Demonstrated ability to prioritize demands in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision to ensure tasks are completed and take initiative where appropriate. Demonstrated ability to respond to direction and maintain level of skill during stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within an Operating room or Surgical setting as a Service Worker II.
