Oil & Gas - Calgary or Grande Prairie


Role Summary

Beginning with an initial staff of three people, we have grown to over 100 personnel, 4 office locations, and 3 certified materials testing laboratories.

We now boast a broad foundation of expertise in a variety of inter-related disciplines.

Including Legal & Construction Survey, Materials Testing, Municipal & Civil Engineering, Planning, Oil & Gas Engineering & Survey, Surface Land, Structural & Bridge Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, and Geotechnical & Environmental Engineering.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpret verbal direction and field data to produce a variety of drafted plans.
  • Produce plans, elevations, technical details and building layouts.
  • Work directly with project managers to produce drafted documents.
  • Ensure drafted documents conform to CAD standards, specifications, and industry requirements.
  • Complete documentation packages and drawing sets in a timely manner.
  • Draft Well Site Plans in freehold, surveyed/unsurveyed crown & Canada Lands.
  • Drafting for Pipeline Construction Plans in freehold, surveyed/unsurveyed crown & Canada Lands. This includes all associated plans (IOP's, Typical Crossings, Profiled Crossings & Legal Plans).
  • Responsible for proper filing of drafted documents and referenced materials.
  • Operate plotters, scanners, and printers.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Diploma in Geomatics Engineering, Survey Drafting and/or similar CAD related education considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 Years experience as a CAD Operator or similar role.
  • Experience and Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Able to proficiently use and navigate within ABADATA, SPIN, GLIMPS.
  • Proficient in general computer use and Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Proficient with Land Survey terminology for field work and data calculations.
  • Working knowledge of the ALSA Manual of Standard Practice relating field survey practices and drafting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the LTO procedures manual.
  • Working knowledge of Municipal bylaws associated with plan requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the "Survey's Act" associated with your plan locations.
  • Working knowledge of Directive 56 (guidelines for well sites).
  • Working knowledge of AER Oil and Gas regulations.
  • Working knowledge of expectations associated with AEP.
  • Extensive experience in the independent Drafting of Well Site Plans in freehold, surveyed/unsurveyed crown & Canada Lands.
  • Extensive experience in the independent Drafting of Pipeline Construction Plans in freehold, surveyed/unsurveyed crown & Canada Lands. This includes all associated plans (IOP's, Typical Crossings, Profiled Crossings & Legal Plans).
  • Ability to utilize processed field data, as required, for various types of BASE survey plans, supported by BASE calculating technologists and project managers.

$ $35.00 per hour, can be negotiated based on experience.
