Description

As a Parking Services Cashier and Customer Support Specialist, you are the forefront of providing an exceptional parking experience at the Hamilton Convention Centre Parking Garage.

This critical role combines cashiering proficiency with outstanding customer service to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and efficient parking process for all visitors.

The position demands a thorough understanding of the parking operation's cashiering services, adherence to high standards of customer interaction, and the ability to handle various parking transaction tools and systems with accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:

Deliver exemplary customer service in line procedural standards.
Utilize excellent communication skills to assist the public effectively.

Transaction Handling:

Operate the Parking Access Control System to calculate fees and process parking transactions.
Process various forms of parking validations, including vouchers, coupons, permits, and parking bonus cards.
Accurately balance and deposit transaction revenues at the end of each shift. Ensure no shortfalls occur.

Equipment and System Management:

Monitor CCTV and report nonroutine activities to parking operations staff.
Keep in constant communication with team members via twoway radio.
Ensure ticket machines are fully operational, performing minor adjustments as needed, such as clearing ticket jams or replacing ribbons.
Log and report maintenance issues to maintenance staff accurately and timely.
Keep a detailed daily log of incidents and operational updates.

Operational Support:

Direct traffic and manage parking allocations as necessary.
Facilitate the distribution and exchange of parking permits.
Assist in the training of new employees and work closely with staff to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Deploy and manage special event staff, ensuring they have the correct cash floats and that all monies are accurately counted upon return.
Maintain sufficient coin supply for changemaking purposes.
Control access to the customer assistance area, preventing unauthorized entry.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in cashiering and customer service, preferably in a parking or hospitality setting.
Proficiency in using electronic payment systems and parking management software.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform minor equipment maintenance tasks.
