Brief Description of Practicum Project:


Worksite Location and Conditions:

It is an on-site position located at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Standard office conditions - most work will be conducted on a laptop and requires engagement with project management, project leadership, clinical and administrative stakeholders.


Duties

  • Participate in physical walkthroughs of various clinical sites to ensure hardware resources are ready for launch
  • Provide 'elbow support' to end users during the training and golive phases of the project
  • Support basic system troubleshooting in clinical settings
  • Support project analyst with planning and project management activities
  • Attend meetings with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Attend project meetings on a weekly basis and create minutes and agenda items
  • Coordinate followups with crossfunctional teams
  • Develop presentation materials for various teams

  • Experience working in a fast pace healthcare setting, implementing innovative technology
  • Increase knowledge of project management and coordination
  • Increase experience working with crossfunctional teams
  • Increase experience with specific healthcare technology software
  • Increase experience in audienceappropriate communication to crossfunctional teams with range of learning styles

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a technical/health informatics or similar undergraduate or postgraduate program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with teams which include professionals and nonprofessionals an asset
  • Experience demonstrating initiative and meeting competing deadlines in detailoriented environment
  • Experience teaching/training adult learners
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing work and schedules
  • Willingness to go above and beyond in order to accomplish project deliverables on time and on budget
