To assist in the manufacturing process as assigned, performing all the general functions of a Material Handler as listed below, while meeting the established customer requirements at UTIL Canada Limited.
Job Duties:
- Lift Truck Operator
- Production:
- Order processing
- Move product / containers (crates, baskets, etc.)
- Receive Raw Material Bills of Lading into computer system
- Order Picker
- Shipping: this only applies to hardware and shim pickers not using scale.
- Operate scales ensuring correct number of products based on weight and orders scale operator are not necessarily material handlers, they may not have licenses
- Manually count parts and place in shipping container
- Transfer containers to skids
- Shrink wrap skids for transport
- Lift Truck Operator
- Shipping/Receiving
- Pick product as per orders
- Transport product to scales for weighing
- Transport weighed and completed orders to washing, if needed, and then shipping area for loading
- Transfer products from container to container
- For OE Fineblank, create customer shipping labels
- Receive incoming parts / packages and log into system
- Completes reports as required
- Supports daily production priorities and production schedule commitments to achieve business objectives.
- Maintains safety standards and 5S standard of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by their Supervisor or Manager.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement, dimensional quality concerns and customer issues, and supports departmental goals and objectives.
- Informs the supervisor to the best of his ability about unusual things, faulty design, unsafe conditions, missing parts, etc.
- Works in a costeffective manner and maintains high standard of quality and excellent workmanship.
- Performs other duties as assigned by their Supervisor/Manager.
- Previous work experience in stamping environment beneficial
- Ability to work overtime if required.
- Minimum High School Diploma education
- Certified in use of counterbalance forklift
- Certified in use of overhead crane for loading coils into machines
POSITIONAL SUITABILITY / WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Forklift license
- Experience moving and handling coils with overhead crane
- Prior work experience in an automotive stamping environment would be an asset.
- Must be able to understand, read and write in English.
- Contributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional / technical knowledge.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 30 lbs unassisted
- Ability to work overtime if required.
- Be punctual, reliable and willing to work flex hours.
- Environment can be noisy and oily
