    Description

    Requirements:

    • Education: Secondary (high) school completion
    • Experience: Will receive training

    Work Environment

    • Nursing home/residence for the elderly

    Responsibilities:

    • Supply and empty bedpans
    • Measure patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
    • Distribute meal trays and assist patients with feeding
    • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients
    • Transfer messages, reports, requisitions, and samples between departments
    • Make beds and tidy up patients' rooms
    • Oversee patients' exercise regimens
    • Manage inventory of supplies
    • Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming patients
    • Escort patients between care facilities
    • Wheelchair or stretcher transport of patients
    • Respond to call signals to assess patients' needs
    • Collect specimens
    • Prepare patients for surgery by cleansing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
    • Administer initial aid during emergencies

    Certifications and Training

    • First Aid Certification
    • CPR Certification

    Security and Safety:

    • Background check required

    Physical Requirements:

    • Physically strenuous
    • Bending, crouching, kneeling

    Weight Handling:

    • Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

    Personal Qualifications:

    • Client-oriented
    • Good judgment

    Additional Information:

    • Prior experience in this field is advantageous
