Marina Office Assistant to join our
Marine Operations Department for the 2023 summer season
.

Duration:
May 1 to September 4 inclusive with possible fall work until October 2023.


Hours:
Office Hours (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) 5 days per week including weekends and holidays. Two days off per week midweek likely Wednesday and Thursday.


Salary:
$ $16.25per hour plus vacation and statutory holiday pay. Paid bi-weekly electronically.

Duties:


  • Uses Marina Management Software Harbour Assist to manage slips, reservations, payment of fees and communications with customers.
  • Collects and accurately processes dockage agreements and associated payments;
  • Processes and assigns slip reservation with assistance from the Dock Master and Senior Admin staff.
  • Monitors slip assignments and takes corrective action to ensure proper slip allocations.
  • Monitors monthly slip assignments and contacts customers for payment or renewal.
  • Assists with account collections.
  • Coordinates activity with other Marina Administrative and Corporate Office staff.
  • Greets, checks in and out visitors to the Marina.
  • Issues and tracks violation and trespass letters.
  • Maintains the office (organizes record binders, visitor logs and general files).
  • Collects deposits for and tracks distribution of dock access keys. Obtains keys back from visitors.
  • Reports boating issues/ concerns to the Dock Master and Manager of Marine Operations.
  • Prepares balanced cash and POS Square Inc income deposits.
  • Sells retail product including ice and pump out tokens.
  • Keeps track of retail product inventory including ice and orders product as needed.
  • Coordinates passenger vessel line handling (eastern zone) and collects and records cruise schedule data.
  • Monitor's slip and building/ washroom and laundry area cleanliness and assists with removal of debris.
  • Participates in Marine Emergency and spill response (if required) trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Abide by all Harbourfront Centre Health & Safety Policies and Procedures as well as all requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable regulations.
  • Abide by Harbourfront Centre's Workplace Discrimination, Harassment and Violence Prevention Policy.
  • Identify and report all health and safety concerns immediately to your supervisor.
  • Participate in all required Health & Safety Training including Emergency Preparedness and Workplace Violence and Harassment Training. May attend May 15 Passenger Vessel Safety Day.

Requirements:


  • Previous employment in a Public Marina or Yacht Club office is helpful.
  • Familiarity with either sailing or power boating.
  • Computer literate; familiarity with MS Word, Excel and MS Office.
  • Energetic, outgoing, friendly, positive and enthusiastic.
  • Professional (neat appearance/presentation).
  • Very organized, detail oriented, responsible and reliable.
  • Feels comfortable working around water
    . Must be able to swim well.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Previous Finance, cash handling, POS machine experience an asset.
  • Health & Safety experience is an asset.
  • Abide by all Harbourfront Centre Health & Safety Policies and Procedures as well as all requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable regulations.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Non-Canadian applicants must have a valid employment Visa and proper documentation authorizing their ability to work in Canada.
