Your role
As Regional Director, Radio-Canada Québec, you are responsible for setting the region's strategic direction and objectives across all Radio-Canada platforms.
You lead a young and dynamic management team ready to take on the challenges currently facing the media industry. You play a key role in developing and implementing performance indicators tied to the regional stations' positioning.
Engaged in the community, you serve as the Corporation's representative to community, cultural and economical organizations in the Quebec city region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the strategic direction and objectives for Radio-Canada Québec.
- Ensure effective management of all regional resources (people, financial, equipment and facilities).
- Provide positive, collaborative and outcomefocused leadership to the Radio-Canada Québec management team as well as all programming and nonprogramming staff.
- Be responsible and accountable for audience ratings and metrics across Radio-Canada Québec platforms. Work closely with your management team and employees to ensure that results and metrics match or exceed the previous year's performance.
- Ensure the development and production of network programs within the region.
- Oversee the development of new programming in the context of media priorities.
- Cultivate close strategic relationships with Radio-Canada Québec partners to better connect with the community and enhance programming.
- Act as corporate spokesperson for regional issues. Proactively and positively represent CBC/Radio-Canada within the region and help conduct public relations initiatives, particularly targeting cultural and community associations.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (journalism, communications, administration, etc.)
- Solid strategic planning skills along with a demonstrated ability to implement strategies and track performance indicators
- Significant experience managing teams, preferably in a unionized environment
- Outstanding positive, collaborative and engaging leadership skills
- Superior skills and keen interest in communications and interpersonal relations, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees, colleagues, members of the community and outside organizations
- English is an asset
- Deep experience in and knowledge of the Québec media, cultural and political landscape as well as the region's major players and markets
- Skills and experience in financial and budgetary management
- Journalism and programming experience; understanding of programming development and production processes an asset
- Deep understanding of the broadcast industry and its practices is an asset
