Responsibilities
The Civil Engineer works closely with other designers and network specialist.

He supervise civil engineering work required for the installation of telecommunications equipment (infrastructure works):


  • Inside or outside a building (apartment buildings, office buildings, warehouses, churches and hospitals, etc.),
  • Reinforcement or design of guyed pylon, selfsupporting lattice pylon and monopoly selfsupporting pylon.
  • Deliver solutions and projects in a dynamic environment focused on network growth and technological advances.
  • Solves technical problems, perform team performance management and quality control of service delivery. The high level of interaction with customers, suppliers and employees, as well as the diversity of skills required, demand a high capacity in problem solving.

The responsibilities associated with the position are:

  • Carry out studies of opportunities and pre-projects
  • Analyzes and manages implementation priorities based on information provided by stakeholders.
  • Validate plans and specifications compliance with guidelines, code requirements and other regulations.
  • Proceed and/or verify the estimation and calculation of quantities of materials required to carry out projects.
  • Perform various calculations and analyses related to the field of civil engineering in the world of telecommunications.
  • Manage dependencies, prerequisites and establish a sequence of activities at the task level. Make sure deadlines are met.
  • Align and ensure technical deliverables and materials for all activities.
  • Prepare specifications and bill of materials.
  • Prepare tender documents, analyze bids received and manage external contractors for all activities assigned to them.
  • Manage integration activities with internal partners.
  • Manage risk analysis and participate in mitigation plans.
  • Follow up on quality and cost control.
  • Project the completion dates of the various tasks.
  • Ensures that project files are closed
  • Support and participate in the organizational initiative
  • Responsible as civil engineer for certain other special projects.

Qualifications:


  • 5 to 7 years experience as civil engineer in the telecommunications business or equivalent.
  • Experience to work with technical documents (planning specification, plans and detail telecommunication engineering document);
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in managing multiple, simultaneous, highvolume projects selfmotivated with the ability to work well independently and on a team
  • Detail oriented with an aptitude for tracking progress across many projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational, written, verbal and time management skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English: A good knowledge of English is necessary as this role requires regular communication in English with customers and/or team members in other provinces.
  • Good knowledge of basic computer software.
