We are hiring an
Employee Engagement & Corporate Event Coordinator to support all our campuses.


Primary Duties:


  • Develop and implement a corporate event calendar for Hanson Canada. Included but not limited to Town Hall, Christmas Gala, onsite and offsite strategic summit (leadership), and other employee engagement events.
  • Align objectives and contents for each event to ensure that the events are conducted in a manner that appropriately represents the College.
  • Communicate directly with the management throughout the event planning process to learn requirements and goals, format, budget, administrative details, and special requirements.
  • Coordinate guest list and vendor specifications, and ensure all parties understand relevant information and details.
  • Negotiate contracts with venue personnel, caterers, hospitality staff, and other vendors to acquire necessary services and activities for events while meeting budgetary objectives.
  • Monitor and oversee events from preparation and setup through teardown to ensure adherence to planned format, compliance with regulations, cooperation between vendors, resolution of issues, and overall satisfaction of participants.
  • Perform postevent tasks promptly such as meeting with employees to ensure satisfaction, review and documenting issues and resolutions.
  • Evaluate potential locations, providers, vendors, and other professionals frequently to determine viability for future events and build a personal knowledge base to better serve clients.
  • Assist with ad hoc employee engagement special projects.
  • Assist with other HR administrative tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Qualifications:


  • University degree in a relevant field with a record of professional accomplishment in event planning and scheduling, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of exposure to the event planning with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to handle conflict calmly and professionally
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with a clientcentric mindset and positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in an academic setting is preferred.
