Description

The sales associate will provide service to customers, sort incoming products and assists the store supervisor in the maintenance of all store operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serving customers and using cash register including taking responsibility for the accurate completion of all customer transactions; answering telephone

Handling merchandise as directed by the store supervisor

Rotating store stock; replacing old stock with new stock

Ensuring store is always stocked.

Sorting and pricing store merchandise; taking priced items to sale area.

Assisting in always keeping store tidy and clean

Keeping window display updated

Preparing garbage for pick-up

Accepting "drop-offs" of merchandise

Keeping stock room organized

Helping with deposit at the end of the day

Performs other duties as assigned

TERM: Temporary, full-time; Sick leave replacement; 35 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Can work within a Christian faith-based setting and uphold the mission, vision, and values of The Salvation Army

Have completed High School

Have experience in the retail sector; preferred but not essential

Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

Have physical effort/dexterity for continuously standing for long periods of time, frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling, and kneeling.

Obtain a Criminal Police/Vulnerable Sector Check and clearance through The Salvation Army Internal Abuse Registry and be willing to sign The Salvation Army Code of Conduct Receipt & Acknowledgement Form
