Description

As the major instrument of Jewish philanthropy and engagement in Montreal, Federation CJA is a community-driven strategic organization committed to taking care of the needs of the Jewish people and building a vibrant Jewish future, in Montreal, Canada and in Israel.

Reporting to the Director of Impact Partnerships & Allocations, and as a key member of the Strategy and Impact team with responsibilities for supporting vital projects, the Community Relations Manager - Grants Officer serves as a liaison and resource to Federation's impact partner organizations for community planning and local partner funding.

The incumbent also interfaces with other Jewish organizations and related agencies in the community on planning and special projects to enhance overall service and collaboration in our community.


Duties

  • Work closely and collaboratively with impact partners to understand their needs and funding requirements.
  • Serve as primary staff support for grant review subcommittees.
  • Maintain granting and fund tracking database.
  • Support the monitoring, evaluation, and strategic learning processes with impact partners.
  • Support the collection of data, analyze, and monitor statistics and impact partner performance metrics that help evaluate impact of Federation CJA's local grant funding.
  • Keep current on research and trends in key impact areas as defined in the Federation Strategic Plan

Education, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 35 years relevant experience, preferably in program planning and development and/or allocations of funds.
  • Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects while operating with the highest degree of integrity and demonstrating superior attention to detail.
  • Selfstarter, creative thinker and curious.
  • High level of ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Superb interpersonal skills and proven ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues and lay leaders.
  • Proactive and strong problemsolving skills and the ability to shift priorities when needed in a fastpaced and multitask environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound and independent judgement.
  • Strong knowledge/skills with online survey platforms and grants management software.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills, in both official languages.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (OneDrive, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the diverse Jewish community landscape in Montreal; previous community professional and volunteer experience an asset.
  • Interest in building a strong, dynamic, and pluralistic community and commitment to empowering all segments of the population.
