***: The Ophthalmic Assistant generates important preliminary information to be used by the ophthalmologist; reviews patient status and performs medical tests.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Performs tests and screening as required including: Reviews patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information, complete ocular health exams, eye pressures, field of vision testing, instillation of eye drops, use of ophthalmic medical equipment, and assisting with minor in-office surgical procedures and laser treatments for different types of glaucoma and post cataract treatments.

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Ophthalmic Assistant Certification an Asset


Requirement:


Must have the ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (gloves, face mask, eye shield, gown) for duration of shift.
