    The Role:

    Canco is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support key functions for payroll. The right candidate will develop a deep understanding of the day-to-day payroll processes. This role involves coordinating information for existing and new employees, assisting in weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly pay processes, performing administrative duties and ad-hoc duties as they arise.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation of provincial and federal reporting and remittances (i.e. WCB, WSIB, EHT, etc.)
    • Collect and verify timekeeping information from employees, resolve payroll issues and clarify any employee inquiries regarding pay.
    • Assist with year-end reconciliations and tax form preparation such as T4s and ROEs
    • Assist in processing information for new hires, resignations and terminations and work alongside the HR department.
    • Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance.
    • Prepare reports to support other departments with regards to payroll
    • Performing ad-hoc administrative/reporting duties as they arise.

    What You Bring:

    • Familiarity with payroll systems and understanding of basic accounting principles.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge with Payworks is an asset.
    • Ability to deal with and handle confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
    • Knowledge of up-to-date payroll laws and regulations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, and advanced knowledge of Excel;
    • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in accounting, finance, or a related field. Relevant experience is a plus.

    Salary Range: $42, $52,000.00 per year

    This role is a Permanent Full-Time position at our Kelowna BC Head Office.
