- Test all aspects of SCADA interface system, status, control and analogs
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams for the purpose of installation and troubleshooting
- Design and configure complete SCADA systems from the RTU's to the Host
- Program various types of Remote Terminal Units (RTU) using Config Pro. as well as data concentrator programming
- Program HMIs and other network interfaces as necessary
- Commission, test and troubleshoot system elements remotely and on-site, as required
- Prepare documents and specifications to track and support new components (protective relays and meters) added to the SCADA system
- Developing and Update the data for the SCADA system
- Recognize and troubleshoot data and connectivity issues and create reports as required
- Provide training on SCADA systems to employees as needed
- Lead the design, installation, and maintenance of communication equipment and SCADA systems
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution or Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in substation would be a major asset
- Be familiar with all apparatus found in a HV substation
- Past experience with testing software will be beneficial
- Be competent and comfortable working with computers and spreadsheets.
- Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work safely and show concern for environmental, health and safety issues in the workplace.
- Must have the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and have a valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Able to work comfortably at heights
- Able to work alone or with minimal supervision
- Willing to work out of town and on rotation, ie. 4 days on 3 days off work schedule
